From here can ascend to Kala Pattar at the height of 5554m and to the Everest Base camp. Der Treck zum Gokyo bietet eine gute Alternative zum traditionellen Everest Basislager Treck. Von Gokyo sind vier 8000 m Berge (Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse und Makalu) zu sehen. Dort gibt es viele Möglichkeiten für zusätzliche Seitenabstecher und Wandern auf großer Höhe, einschließlich der Überquerung des Chola, eines 5.420 m hohen Passes nach Khumbu.
